RoMe

We were able to be in Rome for 4 days and I have to say this was my favorite city of all, although it was the dirtiest city we saw. Some of the highlights of Rome were:

*The Colosseum

*Vatican City/ Museum

*The Sistine Chapel

*St. Peters Church

*Roman Ruins

*The Pantheon

*Fontana di Trevi

*The Best Italian Food Ever!

The hotel we stayed at gave us tickets to go see this production and of course everything was in Italian so we didn't know what we were going to but it was quite cool. It started with a bunch of famous Italian singers performing. There was an Italian heartthrob that reminded me of Neil Diamond that everyone was so excited to see and sing along with (even the nuns sitting next to us), some Italian Opera singers, and some poppy Italian singers. After the singers performed there was a light show synchronized with music that utilized the buildings around the plaza for a back drop. So we were just sitting there enjoying the music and all of a sudden soap starts shooting out over the whole crowd. It was so weird, crazy, and cool. The air was full of this soap and it looked like it was snowing, there was soap everywhere!

Jerry is not one to really care much about his birthday so we don't really do much to celebrate it. If it was his choice he wouldn't have birthday cake but I love birthdays so he has no choice but to have a cake. When Jerry was little he loved GI Joes and his friends used to call him General Jerry so I took that information and made him a little GI Joe birthday cake. It's not amazing or anything but it turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

Jerry with his cake!

This is the card I gave him for his birthday!

I wanted him to wear the sticker to work but he refused, not sure why though.
Jerry I love ya lots and I hope you have had a great day, even though you don't really care for birthdays!!!

We live so close to the Big Horn Mountains and Jerry had the last couple of days off so we decided to take a camping trip up there on Thursday and Friday. We had a lot of fun seeing the wildlife, attempting to fish, and enjoying each others company. However we weren't too keen on the idea of getting eaten alive by the mosquitos. We really should have taken advantage of the genius who invented mosquito replenant but we weren't bright enough to remember to take it with us. I only got bit about 7 times but poor Jerry got bit about 30 times. Where we were camping was close to Shell Falls so on Friday we drove down to see the falls too, which are quite beautiful. I love summer time for the camping but it's hard to be far from my family because that is something we always do during the summer and is something that my dad absolutely loved to do. I'm glad that Jerry loves to camp too so that we can keep that tradition alive when with our little family of just me and him and eventually with our own family.

This are two of the many Bucks we saw while camping. It made Jerry very happy to see them because this is the same area he will be hunting in this Fall.

This is the view we had while camping.

HaPpY fAtHeRs DaY!

Last night was a hard night for me knowing that today was Father's Day and I wouldn't be able to wish my father a happy fathers day or thank him for his example or thank him for all the help he gives me or even be teased by him for hitting a deer. I am grateful for the sweet husband who gave me a loving hug allowing me to use his white shirt to collect my mascara stained tears and told him how much I miss my dad and talked about memories I have of him. He helped remind me that I had many happy Father's Days in the past with him and how proud he would be of me for getting a teaching job doing what I love. Nonetheless it is still hard to think that there will never be another Father's Day that I will be able to spend with that sweet man. It was hard to visit home without being able to see my dad but instead seeing the headstone marking the place where he lies. I love you dad and miss you lots and you should be proud that I haven't hit any more deer with my car!

This post is long overdue! I had a great time visiting my family in Utah a few weeks ago. I was lucky enough to be there for about 2 weeks and spend lots of time with my family and friends!

Me, mom, and Kristie took Preslie on her first shopping trip to the Gateway. Then we met up with Chelsi for dinner at the Melting Pot. It was a lot of fun!

I was able to see my baby brother Brady Graduate! We're so proud of you Brady! Me and Kristy made Brady a sweet candy bar poster to let him know how proud we are! He wasn't as excited about it as we were.

I spent one day with Parker and Preslie. Me and Parker went to the park and made chocolate chip cookies. He ate a lot of cookie dough in the process!

I got to spend a day with Boston too, but he wasn't feeling too well. :(

We hiked Waterfall Canyon, it was quite awesome!

We went to a BBQ with all our Logan/Convergys friends. It was soooo good to see everyone again, but hard to say goodbye!

We were able to see our best friends Skyler and Dory get married. We are very happy for them! Jerry looked quite nice in his tux.

I was also able to see my best friends Megan and Brittany from high school as well as my favorite roommate KC but I didn't get pictures with either of them :( It was a good trip but hard to say goodbye and am anxious for another visit very soon.

Last weekend Jerry and I had some very good friends from Logan come visit us in Sheridan. After the long drive I don't know that they will be visiting again any time soon, but we did have a good time with them. We took a road trip up to see Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, Sturgis, and Devils Tower. Thanks Dory, Skyler, and Rowley for such a fun weekend!

NeW nAmEs

I have now had Zola for 2 months and she has been healthy and well fed, but not overfed. My mom suggested though, that in order to keep her alive, I needed to repot the plants into separate pots, so they could grow. So after 3 new pots and dirt and water everywhere, I have repotted the plants and I think they all look much better and significantly less crowded than before. I hope that she will survive the transfer. The plant in the original blue pot will remain Zola but I feel that I should name each of the other plants individually. Any suggestions? Leave a comment of what you think we should name our other plants....

SnOw, SnOw, AnD mOrE sNoW!

Monday March 30th we woke up to this beautiful sight.....NOT!!!! We knew that a storm was going to be coming this past weekend and heard rumor of a BLIZZARD but we thought it was a little overkill. It sure wasn't. There was about 2 feet of snow in our yard, school was cancelled, and the whole town of Sheridan pretty much shut down because of it. There is snow everywhere. Jerry and I took 3 hours to shovel our massive driveway. I just can't believe how much snow there is and how it effected the town soooo much. April 3rd and 4th we got another large storm getting about 10 more inches of snow. No fun!
These are our cars in the driveway. The car on the far left is Jerry's work vehicle and there is so much snow that you can't even tell what it is.
This is our backyard with a small path shoveled in the front.
