EuRoPe

This post is long overdue. Late July Jerry and I got to head over to Europe for about 3 weeks. It was awesome! The following posts are the highlights from our trip. Enjoy!

AmStErDaM

We started and ended our trip in Amsterdam, which is where we flew into and out of. It is very different than our culture since prostitution and marijuana are legal there. They have an area of the city known as the Red Light District. The Red Light District has street lamps that have red lightbulbs and that is where women would be in windows soliciting themselves for prostitution. Some of the highlights of Amsterdam were:

*The Canals through the city

*The buildings so close to the canal and so close together

*Van Gough Museum (the museum was awesome but we didn't get any pictures)

PaRiS

Since I was in high school I have always wanted to go to Paris and am so glad that we were able to make it there. Some of our highlights there were:

*Eiffel Tower

*The Louvre

*Notre Dome

*Versailles

*Arc de Triomphe

BaRcElOnA

My brother Kory had gone to Barcelona a few years ago so we asked him for advice on what to see while we were there. He had some great suggestions and we had a great time! Some of the highlights were:

*La Sagrade Familia

*Architecture by Gaudi that looked like it belonged in a Dr. Seuss book.

*The Gothic Quarter

*The Meditteranean Sea and Beach (we didn't get any pictures of the beach because there were 1 too many nudes we didn't want in our pictures)

*A Bull Fight

*Museum of Salivador Dali's Work

RoMe

We were able to be in Rome for 4 days and I have to say this was my favorite city of all, although it was the dirtiest city we saw. Some of the highlights of Rome were:

*The Colosseum

*Vatican City/ Museum

*The Sistine Chapel

*St. Peters Church

*Roman Ruins

*The Pantheon

*Fontana di Trevi

*The Best Italian Food Ever!

The hotel we stayed at gave us tickets to go see this production and of course everything was in Italian so we didn't know what we were going to but it was quite cool. It started with a bunch of famous Italian singers performing. There was an Italian heartthrob that reminded me of Neil Diamond that everyone was so excited to see and sing along with (even the nuns sitting next to us), some Italian Opera singers, and some poppy Italian singers. After the singers performed there was a light show synchronized with music that utilized the buildings around the plaza for a back drop. So we were just sitting there enjoying the music and all of a sudden soap starts shooting out over the whole crowd. It was so weird, crazy, and cool. The air was full of this soap and it looked like it was snowing, there was soap everywhere!
